A survey evaluating healthcare professional attitudes and perceptions on Ramadan fasting in pregnant Muslim women with diabetes |
This Sydney-based cross-sectional survey study is part of research work being conducted by Dr Shejil Kumar. The study focusses on evaluating healthcare professional attitudes and perceptions on Ramadan fasting in pregnant Muslim women with diabetes. The results of this study aim to guide future research directions and management guidelines in this field in the local Australian population.
This survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. We are surveying Endocrinologists, general practitioners and obstetricians across all seniority levels and local health districts. The survey will ask a series of multiple-choice questions enquiring about demographics (e.g. which specialty you practice in, which health district you work in), your degree of relevant expertise, your confidence in managing pregnant fasting Muslim women with diabetes, your approach to their management and factors going into clinical decision making.
The survey is anonymous and we will not ask you to provide any personal or sensitive information. Please contact Dr Shejil Kumar at shejil.kumar@health.nsw.gov.au if you have any questions about this study. This study has been approved by the South Eastern Sydney LHD HREC (2023/ETH00682).
